KINSTON – Mrs. Kathy Lewis, 70, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Cullen officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. A native of Iowa, Kathy was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a nurse during Vietnam. She was an active member of Lanie's Chapel Christian Church in Kinston. Kathy will be fondly remembered for her kind, giving and assertive personality. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ralph D. Lewis; daughter Susan M. Doughtie and husband David, of Ayden; and granddaughter, Ashlee N. Tyndall of Kinston.
