ORMONDSVILLE - Mr. Larry Allen Flanagan, 57, died Thursday morning December 20, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center. A native of Lenoir County, Larry was born March 26, 1955, the son of Desmond and Rena Edwards Flanagan. An outdoorsman, Larry loved hunting and fishing and took great pride in maintaining the yard of his home. He worked with Coca-Cola Bottling Company for many years prior to joining Federal Express where he had been a ground driver for fifteen years. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 22, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Reverend Jack Weathersby officiating. Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, at the Snow Hill Cemetery. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, David Flanagan who was formerly of Kinston. His surviving family includes his wife, Diane Wells Flanagan; daughter Paula Michelle Flanagan Haynes and husband Paul, of La Grange; son Larry Allen Flanagan, Jr. of Kinston; stepson Eddie Baldree and wife Andi, of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren Taylor, Ryan, Ashley, Sidney, Nathan, Cameron and Brendan; a sister, Alice Kivett of Kinston; and a special friend, Allen Shirley of Hookerton. The family will receive friends on Saturday following the service and other times at the home, 3455 Ormondsville Road, Ayden. Online condolences may be made at taylor-tyson.com.
