KINSTON - Bea Parker, 84, of Kinston passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Classic Country Care. Bea was retired from E.I. DuPont; a member of Spilman Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years; served in the Joy Group of Spilman Church; served in various offices of the Women of the Moose; a member of East Carolina Alumni Association; she was a cheerleader with her twin brother; and a member of Cup and Saucer with the Kinston Parks and Rec.; and was a responsible pet owner and caregiver. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lena Roebuck and John Edwin Manning; husband J.D. Parker Jr.; brothers Bill and John Manning; and sisters, Emma Modlin and Mary Ross. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013, at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Outland officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Edwards Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Survivors include her son, James Edwin Parker Sr. and wife Ellen, of Snow Hill; daughter Theresa Parker Pierce and husband Bradley, of Salisbury. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James Edwin Parker Jr., Jessica Pierce Moscardini, Ashley Pierce, Dean Pierce; and great-grandchildren, Ellen Marie Parker, Gian Luca Moscardini; and her twin brother, A.E.
