YANCEYVILLE - Louise Hooks Kelley, 77, of 62 Penn Watlington Road, died Wednesday June 20, 2012, at Duke University Medical Center after a short period of declining health. She was born July 9, 1934, in the Hargetts Crossroads Community in Jones County to the late Addie Taylor and Council Sanderson. She was educated in Lenoir County schools; was a member of Community Baptist Church where she also served as Secretary for 32 years and volunteered for many other church activities. She was retired from Caswell County Building Inspection and the Caswell County Senior Center. She also served on the Board of the Caswell Parish. Her favorite pastime was raising flowers and cooking. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at Community Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Jonathan Hamilton with interment following in the church cemetery. Survivors are two sons, James G. Hooks Jr. and wife Donna, of Graham, N.C. and Eric C. Hooks and wife Sheri, of Burlington, N.C.; three grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and one sister, Evelyn Gardner. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by first husband, James G. Hooks Sr., second husband, Monroe J. Kelley, and two sisters, Mary Hocutt and Leona Jones. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Community Baptist Church.
