WENDELL - Mae Whaley Wallace, 92, formerly of Kinston, N.C., was called home by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Eursie Taylor and Japtha Thomas Whaley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Wallace. She was employed by Kinston Shirt Company and King's Restaurant for many years and was a member of Tabernacle Church. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Wallace Gaskins and husband Bob, of Wendell; sons Richard Lee Wallace of La Grange and Alan Wallace and wife Phyllis, of Kinston; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mae was also a mom to numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Howard Carter Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son Alan Wallace, 2485 Pine Knoll Dr. Kinston, N.C. 28504. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Hank Jarman and Pastor Mick Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
