TUSTIN, CALIF. - Marvin Leroy "Billy" Conner, 76, formerly of Kinston, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 9, 2013. Born September 8, 1937, in Kinston, N.C. he was preceded in death by his parents, the late James W. and Annie B Conner; brother James E. "Tarzan" Conner; and sister, Zada C Jones. He attended Grainger High School before joining the Navy at age 17. He served during the Vietnam War and retired from U.S. Navy in 1976. Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Gladys; daughter Wanda C. Pool and her husband Norm, of Tustin Calif.; sisters Linda C. McLelland of Jacksonville Florida, and Joyce Wetherington, and brother, JC Conner of Kinston; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later time in Tustin, California. He will truly be missed by all his friends and loved ones. Sign the guest book at (Paid obituary)
