KINSTON - Mary Ann Jones Ball, 79, of the Strabane Community, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014. Mary Ann was born May 20, 1934, in Lenoir County to the late Floyd Barwick Jones Sr. and Annie Johnston Jones. Mary Ann received her Master's Degree in Education from East Carolina University and enjoyed a long, distinguished career teaching in the Business Department at Lenoir Community College. She enjoyed the beach and UNC Basketball. Her greatest pleasure came from being with family. She loved following and supporting her precious grandchildren in their many activities and endeavors. Mary Ann spent many hours around ball fields and gymnasiums cheering on her grandchildren. They always brought a smile to her face and a twinkle to her eye. A service of remembrance will be held Sunday, February 16, 2014, at 3 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Ham officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Mary Ann is survived by two sons, Kenny Ball and Billy Sutton and wife Wendy; three grandchildren, Brandon Sutton, Ashley Sutton and Trey Smith.
