AYDEN - Mrs. Myrtle May Johnson, 91, died Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Greendale Forest Nursing Center in Snow Hill. A native of Greene County, she was born September 20, 1921, the daughter of George W. and Lellia Davis May. She was a graduate of the Hookerton High School and a member of Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. An avid homemaker, Mrs. Johnson lived independently until 2010 when her health began to decline. Funeral Services will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 11, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. Committal Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 12, at the Snow Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Emma Lou Johnson and husband, Fred, of Hookerton, Diane Johnson Massey and husband, Levy of Kinston, John H. "Bud" Johnson, Jr. and wife, Marilu of Hookerton, Phillip Johnson and wife, Janet of Ayden and Steven Johnson and wife, Jolyn of Hookerton; a special niece, Eloise Carraway of Farmville; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening following the service and other times at the home of Bud Johnson, 5133 Four Way Road, Hookerton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt.
