KINSTON - On Tuesday, July 23, 2013, Peggy Murphy Page passed away peacefully after a five-year battle with cancer and is now with her Lord and Savior. Peggy will be joining her late husband, Bill Page, who passed away in 2008. Peggy was born on April 21, 1938, to the late Emmet and Ethel Murphy of Kinston, N.C., and was raised by her maternal grandparents Will and Flossie Brown. She is survived by seven of these siblings including sisters; Marie White, Edna Reynolds, Faye Moore, and Arlene Ferren; and brothers, Harry Murphy, Kent Murphy, and Buster Murphy. Peggy and Bill lived in Goldsboro for over 25 years, where Peggy worked at Wayne Pharmacy. She loved to spend time growing and preserving vegetables, and would spend days cooking some of the biggest holiday feasts you would have ever seen. She and Bill helped many friends and family over the years, and they never met a stranger. In 1995 Peggy and Bill retired to Kinston to be close to her family. Peggy was an active member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kinston, where one of her favorite activities was hearing the church choir sing. Peggy's survivors include her daughter, Paula Pittman and husband James; sons Charles O'Neal and wife Dorothy, William O'Neal and wife Janet, Randy Page and wife Sarah; step-daughter Grace Hall and step-son, Toby Page; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
