KINSTON - Phyllis Hardison Odum Jacques, 84, of Kinston, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 11, 2012. Phyllis was born December 6, 1927, in Lenoir County to the late Paul and Fannie Anderson Swann. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joseph "Teddy" Jacques; sisters Sadie, Grace, Betty Ann and Virginia; and brothers, John "Bud" and Jimmy Lee. She resided in Massachusetts for 40 years and then relocated back to North Carolina to be near family. Phyllis enjoyed attending yard sales, playing the lottery and most of all cherished time spend with her family. A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Lyn Jones officiating. Phyllis is survived by four children, Tony Odum and Ronnie Odum, both of Swansboro, Genelle Fry and husband Bob, of Grifton and Faye Maines of the home; sister Linda Eubanks of Dover; brother Carson Hardison of Kinston; special sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hardison of Snow Hill; special niece, Joyce Hardy and husband Doodle, of Kinston; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 18 nieces and 10 nephews.
