GRIFTON - Raymond S. Eubanks Jr., 86, of 284 McCotter Drive in Grifton, N.C. went home to be with his Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Harrell Eubanks and his son, Mark Anthony "Tony" Eubanks. He is survived by his daughter, the Rev. Joan Fischer of Washington, N.C.; his son, Raymond S. Eubanks III and wife Terry, of Duncanville, Texas; his son, Randy K. Eubanks and wife Angie, of Wilmington, N.C.; and his daughter, Kimberly Gerber of the home; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his sister Linda Woody and husband Gene, of Kinston, N.C., his sister Brenda Adams and husband Glen, of Kinston, N.C., his sister Ramona Jarmon and husband Bob, of Orlando, Fla.; his brother, Mark L. Eubanks and wife Lorene, of Mountain Home, Ark.; and a very large extended family. Raymond was retired from DuPont, the N.C. National Guard and the Grifton Rescue Squad. He was very active in the N.C. Baptist Men assisting in relief and recovery work during Hurricane Andrew, Hurricane Floyd and in New York. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Grifton, N.C. and had been attending Glen Raven Baptist Church in Kinston, N.C. He led a very active life of service to his God, his family, his local community and beyond. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Service-Ayden. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Estates, Grifton. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
