KINSTON - Roger Douglas Taylor, Sr., 67, of 342 Jessie T. Bryan Road, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at home, in the loving arms of his family. He was a devoted employee of Parrott's Store, formerly Parrott Brothers Feed and Seed for over 32 years and will always be remembered by the countless friendships made and his unwavering commitment to his valued customers. He will also be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lillian Stocks Taylor, a sister, Sandra Kay Taylor Perry and brother-in-law, Van Scott. A service of remembrance will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at his home with Rev. Buster Pike officiating. At Roger's request his ashes will be spread at his home where he resided for 39 years. The family will receive friends at their home. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Martha Pearce Taylor of the home; his sons, Roger Douglas Taylor, Jr. of Kinston, Daniel R. Taylor and wife, Danielle of Eielson AFB, AK and Derrick R. Taylor of Ocala, Fla.; two granddaughters, Brittany and Kylie; his sisters, Libby Keel of Suffolk, Va., Frances T. Outlaw and husband, Bryce and Judy T. Scott, both of Kinston; his brothers, Freddie James Taylor and wife, Marilyn of Pensacola, Fla., Kenneth Earl Edwards and wife, Vernell, Fred Thomas Taylor and wife, Marla, Ronald Bruce "Goose" Taylor and wife, Wanda, all of Kinston.
