NEW BERN - Rosa Bell Hickman, 81, of 206 Ellington St., died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at TwoRivers Healthcare Neuse Campus. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church, Riverdale with the Rev. Mary Gooding, Pastor and the Rev. Johnnie Sampson III, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Hickman Hill Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Brenda A. Green of the home, Ada Hickman Blango and Helen Ambrose both of Havelock; sons Oscar Lee Ambrose of Brooklyn, N.Y., Leamon Ambrose of New Bern, and Thomas Ambrose of Kinston; sisters Mary Perry of Bronx, N.Y., Stella Hickman of New Bern; brothers Herbert Sutton and Lemon Sutton both of Brooklyn; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
