WINSTON-SALEM - Mrs. Susan Wells Cox, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Thursday, September 13, 2012. Mrs. Cox was born July 17, 1944, to J. Frank and Margueritte Wells of Henrietta, N.C. Susan graduated from Greensboro College in 1966 with a B.A. in speech and drama and then received a Masters in speech pathology and audiology from UNCG. She retired from Winston-Salem, Forsyth County school system where she was a speech therapist. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, J. Frank Wells and her aunt, Frances McCardwell. She is survived by her husband, John David Cox; her mother, Margueritte Wells; daughter Margueritte Cox; her twin brother, Frank Wells Jr. and his wife Loretta, of Kinston, N.C.; four nephews, Jeff and David Cox and Jonathan and Joseph Wells. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 at Salem Funeral Home, Main St. Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be planned for a later date. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 401 Harrison Oaks Blvd., Cary, NC 27513.
