KINSTON - William McCally Gillikin was born September 10, 1029 in Beaufort, N.C. and passed away January 4, 2013 in Kinston. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Gillikin. He graduated from Beaufort High School in l947 where he was captain of the baseball and basketball teams. He was inducted as a member of the National Star Athletes Society as an outstanding athlete, excellence of character, leadership and industry. After serving in the Army he worked at Morehead City Country Club, Minnesott Golf and Country Club, Kinston Country Club and Falling Creek Country Club. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Coates officiating. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife Hazel Gillikin of Kinston, N.C., a sister Edna Brock of Beaufort, N.C., brothers Frank Gillikin and wife Carol of Va. Beach, Va. and Raymond Paul Gillikin of Beaufort, N.C., a son, William Luther Gillikin of Country Club Road Morehead City, N.C.
