HOOKERTON - Yvonne Hope Provost Wiggins, 76, of Hookerton, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013. Yvonne was born February 23, 1937, in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Edward Clessie Provost and Leida Matthews Provost. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wilber L. Wiggins; and a son, Wilber L. "Buddy" Wiggins Jr. A homemaker, Yvonne enjoyed taking care of her flowers, cooking, dancing and most of all cherished time spent with family. A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Pastor Rod Dorn officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from Snow Hill Cemetery with Pastor Marty Greer officiating. A wonderful, loving wife, mama and nanny, Yvonne is survived by three children, Sheila Barfield and husband Buddy, of La Grange, Brenda Potter and husband Lynn, of La Grange, and Jimmy N. Wiggins and wife Carolyn, of Kinston; daughter-in-law Theresa Wiggins of Kinston; two brothers, Ronnie Provost of New Bern and Bobby Provost of Hubert; six grandchildren, Michelle Wiggins Dunlow of Hookerton, Dawn Gale and husband Brooks, of Ivor, Va., Jessica Batchelor of Kinston, Caleb Wiggins of Greenville, William Rouse and wife Sonya, of Seven Springs and Matthew Rouse and wife Jenna, of Seven Springs; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Richard Chandler. In addition to her husband and son, Yvonne was preceded in death by three sisters, Vera Wall, Janice Chandler and Betty Provost. The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John "Buddy" Barfield, 3764 Falling Creek Road, La Grange, NC.
