SNOW HILL - Ms. Angela June Fields Grant, 60, died Tuesday afternoon February 11, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center with her daughters, April and Brandy, and dear friend since childhood, Margie, by her side. A native and resident of the Arba community of Greene County, she was born June 1, 1953, the daughter of the late, Morris Linwood and Angela McCoy Fields. Following the death of her parents, June moved to the home place they had established where many fond memories of large gardens, making homemade molasses and the log cabin her father had constructed there existed for her and her children. June had worked with the N.C. Department of Corrections for more than 29 years and was a member of Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 15, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Leon Grubbs officiating. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, April Grant of Snow Hill and Brandy Grant Watson and husband Eddie, of La Grange; a sister, Diane Fields Harrison of Snow Hill; granddaughters, Emma Riley House of Winterville and Megan Elizabeth Watson of Lynchburg, Va.; close friends, Margie H. Taylor and Sherry Roberson both of Snow Hill; and a special caregiver, B.J. Anglero of Snow Hill. The family will receive friends on Friday 6-8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the residence.
