Kinston – Curtis Loftin King, Sr. 83, of Kinston passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Milton Ross King; parents, Hal Hoke King and Reba Loftin King; brothers, Kent King, Horace King and Hoke King; sister, Etta Lou Harvey. Survivors include wife, Mary Lou King of the home; daughters, Cindy Spivey and husband Harry of Maury; Joan Carol Clayborne and husband John of Ayden; sons, Jeff King of Havelock, C.L. King of Clayton, Curtis Lynn King and wife Dawn of Kinston, John Ray King of Kinston and Lonnie Richard King of Beaufort; sister, Eleanor Register of Wilmington; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, with Reverend John Brick officiating. Burial will follow at King Family Cemetery, HWY 58 South. The family will receive friends at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and other times at the home of his son Lynn King, 2049 HWY 70 East. Kinston. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Armenia Christian Church, 1817 HWY 70 East, Kinston, NC 28501. Howard-Carter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
