KINSTON - Vivian Hardison Phillips, 74, of Kinston passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014. Vivian was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Florence Aldridge Hardison. She was a member of Jackson Heights OFWB Church and fitted glasses and contacts for Drs. Dalton, Riddick, and Wright. Survivors include her husband, Leroy Nelson Phillips Sr. of the home; son Leroy Nelson Phillips Jr. and wife Pam, of Kinston; sister Judy Barnett and husband Dexter, of Kinston; and brother, Clifton Hardison and wife Carol, of Goldsboro; sister-in-law Becky Hardison of Kinston; step-grandchildren Stephanie Mozingo, Devane Mozingo, and Dalton Mozingo; step-great-grandchildren Brady Sheppard and Cash Bailey; nephews Clifton Lee Hardison Jr. and wife Heather, Brian Hardison, Justin Barnett and wife Kasey, all of Kinston and Jarrett Barnett and wife JamiE, of Rolesville; great-nieces and nephews, Michael Hardison, Austin Hardison, Christian Hardison and Taryn Barnett, all of Kinston. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Jackson Heights OFWB Church. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Ashley Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Vivian's special caregivers, Stacy, Cynthia, Delores, Michelle, Melba, and Tony.
