HOCKESSIN, DEL. - Grant H. Warner, 71, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2014, at his home in Hockessin, Del. He was born in 1942 to the late Ulysses Simpson Grant Warner and Margaret N. Warner. Grant was employed by the DuPont Company for 38 years and worked both in Kinston, N.C. and Wilmington, Del. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Chemistry. Grant loved hunting, fishing and boating. He loved vacationing on the beaches of North Carolina and Delaware. His fondest memories were of the time he spent with his son, Jason and his family in Raleigh, N.C. and Topsail Island, N.C. Grant is survived by his wife, Jane Warner of Hockessin, Del.; his son, Jason G. Warner and his wife Holly Warner, of Raleigh, N.C.; and his two beloved granddaughters, Ruth Anne and Victoria. He is also survived by his sister, Kay-Ellen Warner Ayscue of Cary, N.C.; his brother, Bruce Warner and his wife Mary Ann Warner, of Hockessin, Del.; his brother, Michael Warner and his wife Cathy Warner, of Rehobeth Beach, Del.; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted and Anne Till of Gaithersburg, Md. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 31, 2014, at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Del. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift in honor of Grant Warner can be directed to support the Sarcoma Research of Dr. Christian Meyer at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Center.
