KINSTON - Ella Grace Koonce Taylor, 83, of Kinston passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lenoir County to the late Walter Guy and Mainer Brinson Koonce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Erma Koonce Jones; first husband, Elwood Taylor; second husband, James Oliver Taylor; and brothers, Joseph L. Koonce and Walter G. Koonce, Jr. and sister, Ollie Koonce Cannon. Mrs. Taylor was a devout Christian and attended Richlands Pentecostal Assembly Church. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann Taylor Grady of Goldsboro; son, Elwood Taylor, Jr. and fiancé Connie Coggins of the home; grandchildren, Deanna Grady, Bennie Grady, Jr. and wife Pamela, and Kevin Grady, all of Goldsboro, Samantha Taylor and Katie Coggins, both of the home; great-grandchildren, Emily A. Hinnant of Hurlburt Field Air Base, FL and M. Thomas Hinnant of Goldsboro; and sisters, Joyce Ann Kennedy and Edna Carol Taylor, both of Beulaville and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Reverend John Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
