KINSTON - Larry Gray Williams, 75, of Kinston, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 31, 2014, surrounded by his family. Born in Pitt County, he was the son of the late Larry and Clara Williams. Larry was a member of Bethel FWB Church and retired as a Sanitation Superintendent with the City of Kinston. Later, he was a truck driver with Hampton Industries. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling, and especially had a love for both the ocean and the mountains. He was best known for his unwavering devotion to his loving wife, Joyce. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marie Stancill Williams of the home; daughters, Brenda W. Griffin and husband George of Kinston and Tammy W. Davis and husband B.J. of Kinston; grandchildren, Meredith Bippen, Andrea Dihel and Brett Davis; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Price, Bailey Jackson, Corbin Dihel and Hayden Bippen. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Bethel FWB Church with Pastor Chris Truett officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at the Ayden City Cemetery. Howard-Carter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
