SNOW HILL - Mr. Wilbur Maxwell Twyman Sr., 90, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Born August 1, 1919, he was the son of the late Wilbur Marvin Twyman and Nattie Homzelle Weatherall of Orange County, Virginia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Twyman was a carpenter for more than 20 years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Twyman; and a sister, Mary Jones. He is survived by his daughters, Ann Garris and husband Donnie, of Dover, and Wanda Taylor and husband Terry, of Kinston; sons Michael Twyman and wife Brenda, of La Grange, Robert Twyman and friend Lou Ann, of Dover, Wilbur M. Twyman Jr. and wife Lynn, of Snow Hill, and Emmett Twyman and friend Kim, of Snow Hill; grandchil-dren, Ray Holloman of Dover, Michael Small, Bradley Taylor and Billy Taylor all of Kin-ston, Matthew Twyman of La Grange and Brianna Twyman of Dover; step-grandchild, Christopher Jenkins of Dover; great-grandchildren, Raymond Holloman and Johnny Ray Holloman III, both of Dover; and sisters, Homzelle Johnston of Wilmington and Frances Sparks of Aurora, Va. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 20 at the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the home, 701 SE Second St, Snow Hill. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Continuum Hospice, Dr. John John and Dr. Cox for all the care rendered to Mr. Twyman.
