GREENVILLE, S.C. - Byron Hale Harvey, 90, of Greenville, S.C. passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Harvey graduated from Oklahoma University, where he played collegiate baseball. Byron was a retired Braniff pilot and avid golfer. He was also a World War II veteran and a tournament tennis player until in his 70's. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta King Harvey; and daughter, Linda Harvey. He will be laid to rest in the King Family Cemetery next his wife, Etta. He is survived by his children, Dr. William Harvey, Marcia Oerte, Holly S. Harvey, Byron Harvey Jr., Lydia Bissonette and Jennifer Harvey; and his grandchildren, James Harvey and Jesse Harvey; and great- grand-children, Samantha, Eliza and Isaac. Memorial services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the King Family Cemetery, Highway 58 South, with the Reverend Richard Weikel officiating.
