Billy Ray Vaughan

HURDLE MILLS - Mr. Billy Ray Vaughan, 77, of Hurdle Mills, died June 1, 2012, at home after a brave battle with cancer. He was the only child of the late Raymond Vaughan and Lossie Shingleton Vaughan of Snow Hill, N.C. He was retired from E. I. DuPont with 40 years of service; served in the Army and was a veteran; and was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Geneva Dunman Vaughan of the home; one son, Arthur Michael; one daughter, Tina Marie Rouse wife of Herman Rouse of Roxboro; and one granddaughter, Heather Marie; along with several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He loved the Lord, family, friends and church family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Five Forks Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Churchill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
