KINSTON - Milton Ross King, 44, of Kinston passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012. Born in Lenoir County on May 14, 1968, he was the son of Curtis Loftin King Sr. and Mary Lou Noble King. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Nobles and Mr. and Mrs. Hal Hoke King Sr. Ross was a member of Armenia Christian Church; the Lenoir County Shrine Club; and Ionic Masonic Lodge No. 583 where he was a part of the Motor Cart Caravan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Angela Sawyer King of the home; daughter Lina Grace King; son Milton Ross King Jr.; sisters Joan Carol Clayborne and husband John, of Ayden and Cindy Spivey and husband Harry, of Maury; brothers Lonnie Richard King and fiancé Connie Brewer, of Swansboro, John King and Lynn King and wife Dawn, all of Kinston, C. L. King of Garner, and Jeff King of Havelock; sister-in-law Christy Strickland and husband Johnny, of Lumberton; brothers-in-law Larry Sawyer and wife Julie, of Lumberton and Randy Adams of Las Vegas; parents-in-law the Reverend Larry Sawyer and wife Page, of Lumberton; numerous special nieces and nephews; and his loving companion, Boo. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home and other times at 2049 Hwy. 70 East, Kinston. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at the funeral home with the Reverends John Brick and Larry Sawyer officiating. Graveside services with Masonic Rites will follow the service at the King Family Cemetery, Hwy. 58 South, Kinston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lenoir County , 2011 Leslie R. Stroud Road, Kinston, NC 28504 marked for the Milton Ross King Relay Team, or to the Sudan Shriners Children's Hospital Fund, P.O. Drawer 490, New Bern, NC 28563-0490.
