Mary Jackson Obituary

ATLANTIC BEACH - Mary S. Cunningham Perry Jackson, 90, of Atlantic Beach (formerly of Kinston), passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Born in Lenoir County on January 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Neta Stroud Cunningham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Allen Perry II and Calvin Jackson; and her son, Joseph Perry. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church; the Lenoir County Shrinettes; and the Eastern Star. She served as Bookkeeper for the family business, Calvin A. Jackson & Sons Construction Company. Survivors include her daughter, Loretta Perry Alexander and husband Ed, of Emerald Isle; sons Calvin Todd Jackson and wife Candy, of Wilmington, Robert "Bobby" Jackson and wife Maxine, of Deep Run, and Elwood Perry and wife Maria, of Greenville; grandchildren Suzanne Triemstra, Stephanie Perry Miller, Sabryn Jackson, Dwayne Jackson, Nyra Moody, Jessica Blake, Rick Alexander, and Perry Alexander; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Harper of Snow Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Dr. Wanda Neely officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Sudan Shriner's Children's Hospital Fund, 403 E. Front Street, New Bern, NC 28560.
