William Joseph Carroll died Saturday, January 5. He was born September 17, 1927 in Danville, PA. He was predeceased by his parents, Agnes Marie Carroll and Robert Joseph Carroll and a daughter, Susan Catherine Carroll Grooms. He Graduated from Mooseheart Child City and School of Mooseheart, IL. In1943 he joined the Navy. After 21 years working in the naval dental field he retired and opened the Carroll Dental Laboratory. He was a charter member and first president of Crime Stoppers of Kinston and a lifetime member of the National Dental Lab Association. He was a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and enjoyed working at Mary's Kitchen on Mondays and golfing with his friends. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Adams Carroll, sons Robert J. Carroll and wife Deborah and William J. Carroll ll and wife Nicole, and daughters Patricia A. Carroll and Marie Carroll Cheek and husband Tim, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday January 8, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Paul Brant (Celebrant). Interment will be at Pinelawn Memorial Park. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, P.O. Box 1455, Kinston, N.C. 28503.
