CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Mrs. Ross, 69, of Emerald Isle, N.C. and Charlotte, N.C., passed away on February 10, 2013, at her home in Charlotte. She was born on March 17, 1943, in Wilmington, Del., a daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Clark Pearson. Anne Pearson Ross received degrees in Art and Education from the University of Delaware and East Carolina University. In 1964 she married Tom Ross and they moved to Kinston, N.C. Anne was an art teacher at Kinston High School (15 years) and at Coastal Carolina Community College (4 years). She was an artist, active volunteer in her community and a member of the Carolina Artist Studio Gallery in Morehead City. Anne and Tom retired in Emerald Isle, N.C. where she enjoyed to paint, sail, bike and travel. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Anne Ross is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Ross; four children, Andrew Ross, Lauren Bowley, Katherine Catron, all of Charlotte, N.C., and Sarah Ross of Chicago, Ill.; and eight grandchildren. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on March 4 at St. Mildred Catholic Church, 653 Old Hammock Rd., Swansboro, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the family's home. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204.
