LA GRANGE - Tommy Ray Harris, 65, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver with 37 years of service with Smithfield Packing. Tommy was a member of Revival Mission Church and was a member of the NC Bowlers Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Hazel Williams Harris; and his sister, Jean Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with Pastor Ernie Watson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Military Honors. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Tammy Harris of the home; his daughters, Lillian Burroughs of New Bern, Melissa Sutton and husband Woody, of Wyse Fork, Tina Harper of La Grange and Jamie Harris and husband Duane, of Goldsboro; his brothers, Dalton Harris and wife Carol, of Kinston and Robert Harris and wife Linda, of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren, Krystal Burroughs, Ryan Burroughs, TJ Howard, Taylor Sutton and Destiny Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Tracy and Frederick Burroughs.
