KINSTON - On Thursday, April 11, 2013, the gates of heaven opened and an angel entered into eternal rest. Mrs. Doris Little Greene, the daughter of the late Fonnie Little and Rosa Lee Little was born on October 10, 1944, in Kinston, N.C. She attended Savannah High School. After that she worked over 40 years at the Postal Service in New York where she retired. Doris was a kind, courteous and loving person whose touched the hearts of many. She attended the Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she was an active member. She was preceded in death by her husband Norlburt A Greene. She leaves to cherish her loving memory one son Allen Little and his wife Carolyn W. Little of Kinston, N.C.; one granddaughter Jameka "Dee Dee" Little of Greenville, N.C.; one grandson Allen Little Jr. of Greensboro, N.C. and his wife Jawana; three great grandchildren, Genesis Clark, Janiyha Southerland and Jada Little; two sisters, Rosa Mae Little and Novella Fisher of Kinston, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was a board member of the Association of Congregation of Churches Executive Board, Member of the Savannah High School Alumni Association, Member of the Democratic Party, Poll Worker at Carver Courts Precinct 1, Member of American Legion Auxillary #210, Member of the Order of the Golden Circle Alexander Assembly #228 and a Member of St. Martha's Chapter #14 Order of the Easter Star. She was a volunteer at Lenoir Memorial Hospital, volunteer at ICOR, volunteer for the Kinston Meals on Wheels. She was an active member of the Galaxy Senior Bowling League Whaley Motor Sports. Her funeral service is at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Bill John officiating. Internment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
