Jerry "Red" Lee Strayhorn Sr., 75, of 137 Killis Murphy Rd., Pollocksville died Friday at his residence. His funeral is noon on Thursday at Free Will Chapel FWB Church with the Rev. Angelo Brown, Pastor. Burial will follow in the Frank Murphy, Sr. Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Strayhorn of the home; five sons, Vernon Strayhorn of Odenton, Md., Jerome Strayhorn and Victor Strayhorn, both of Charlotte, Antonio Strayhorn of Suisun City, Calif. and Elder Roberts of Rocky Mount, N.C.; four daughters, Shirvon Strayhorn of the home, Vanessa Dawson of Jacksonville, Cynthia Murrell of Trenton and Geraldine Thompson of Kinston; one brother, Chauncey Strayhorn of Kinston; three sisters, Ethel Pearl Patrick of Kinston, Marion Smith of Pollocksville, and Gloria Lofton of Burke, Va.; seventeen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
