PINK HILL - Durwood Sutton Mills, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. He was born September 7, 1926, and was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Sudie Mills; daughter Angelia Mills; granddaughter Brittany Wells; great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Pate; and brother, Linwood Mills. Durwood was an auto body repairman for 46 years and owner of S&M Body Shop in Kinston. He was a World War II veteran; member of Smith's New Home Church; member of St. John's Masonic Lodge No. 4 and the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pearl H. Mills; grandson Brandon Wells; three brothers, Ivey Mills and wife Dorothy, Fred Mills Jr., and James Van Mills all of Pink Hill; special aunt, Fannie Sanders; several nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Bonnie Brown. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Pink Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Pink Hill Funeral Home.
