PINK HILL - Etta Rae Tyndall Oliver of Pink Hill passed away on September 5, 2013, at Spring Arbor. Etta was a graduate from Atlantic Christian College; a teacher at Lenoir and Craven County Schools; member of the NC Education Association - Local, State and National; and a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, James Elwood Oliver of the home; sons Michael Ray Oliver and wife Cheryl, of New Bern and James Mitchell Oliver and wife Angela, of Sneads Ferry; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Eula Lee of Swansboro and Elsie Hill of Pink Hill. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Williams officiating. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service and other times at the home of her sister Elsie Hill, 229 Jonestown Road Pink Hill, NC 28572.
