KINSTON - William Joseph "Bill" Harris Sr., 83, of 569 Pear Street went to be with His Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at Harmony Hall of Kinston. He served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. Bill was owner/operator of Harris Salvage and Used Auto Parts and a member of Freedom Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his father, William Albert Harris and his mother, Mary Emma Webber Harris Ipock, his wife Gaynelle Thompson Harris, and his son, William Joseph "Bill" Harris Jr. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday evening, December 27, 2013, at Garner Funeral Home and other times at the home, 569 Pear Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, at Freedom Fellowship PFWB Church with Pastor Steve Dixon and Pastor Benny Gutierrez officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Estates, Grifton. Survivors include his daughter, Teresa B. Harris of the home; three sons, Timothy G. Harris and wife Virginia Lee, Albert "Randy" Harris and wife Janet, Bobby Harris and wife Kay, all of Kinston; his daughter-in-law, Brenda C. Harris of Kinston; sisters Clara Lee Sparrow of Kinston, Mary K. Jones of Trenton and Debbie Radish of Jacksonville; brothers Albert Dal Harris of Wilson and Charles T.
