Adolph Stanley

LELAND | Adolph Stanley, age 79, of Leland passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington. Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Ottaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Ward's Station Church of God Cemetery. He was a native of Kinston and the son of the late Gilbert and Adie Aleen Wagner Stanley. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Stanley. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Melva Ward Stanley of the home; two daughters, Wanda Gail Andrews of Morehead City and Loretta G. Bell of Elizabethtown; two sons, Ronnie Alphin of Pink Hill and George C. "Trey" Hodges of Clarendon; two brothers, Wilbur Stanley of Melbourne, Fla. and Floyd Stanley of Grifton; a sister, Joyce Faye Elmore of Kinston; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
