BARRY SMITH Obituary

SMITH, BARRY EDWARD - age 58 of Blaine passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013. Native of Vancouver, BC, Canada. Barry played hockey for the Rochester Americans, the Boston Bruins, and the Colorado Rockies. He also coached hockey for the Knoxville Cherokees. Preceded in death by father, Edward William Charles Smith; and brother, Keith Thomas Smith. Survived by fiancé, Linda Cowell; son, Ryan Edward Smith; mother, Elizabeth Smith; sister, Iris Furber and husband Allan; brother, Robin Smith and wife Moe; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Bridges officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999. www.bridgesfuneralhome.com
