WARD, DOROTHY JOAN SNODGRASS - age 77 of Old Hickory, TN, passed away on September 24, 2006. She retired after 28 years of service with the State of Tennessee, Department of Employment Security. Preceded in death by: parents, Scholla and Virgie Snodgrass; brothers, Gene, Jim and Johnny Snodgrass; daughter, Sue Myers Bolinger Laney; sister-in-law, Irma Lee Fischer; grandson, Jonathan Churchwell. Survived by: husband, Eugene (Mose) "Gene" Ward, Vice President and General Counsel of NES; daughter, Judy Myers (Don) Olive; sons, John K. (Wanda) Myers, Jr., Kevin (Diane) Ward; granddaughters, Kristi Vogt (Scott) Snyder, Sara Olive, Meghan Myers, Jennifer Olive; grandsons, Gregg Bolinger, Shane Bolinger, Travis Myers, Brandon Myers, Austin Olive, Don Olive, Jr., James Olive; great-grandchildren, Kalen Ward, Alex Bolinger, Noah Snyder, Harrison Myers, Hayden Myers, Joseph Myers, Jared Myers, Zoe Myers, Haley Olive, Alex Olive, Ashley Olive; brother, Dale (Hoagy) Snodgrass; sister, Laura (Jack) Roberson. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of White Pine with Reverend Charles Harkleroad officiating. Graveside interment service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2006 at White Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be: Phil Snodgrass, Jack Roberson, Reggie Herndon, James Snodgrass, Gary Snodgrass, Daryl Brady, Jimmy McCorkle and Larry Halford. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dale Snodgrass, Greg Bolinger, Travis Myers, Brandon Myers, Shane Bolinger, Jonathan Myers, Austin Olive, Alex Bolinger and Scott and Noah Snyder. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909 or to: the National Kidney Foundation, 4450 Walker Boulevard, Suite 2, Knoxville, TN 37917.
