Mary Bailey Obituary

BAILEY, MARY KAY JONES - age 68, of Knoxville entered her eternal rest on Wednesday evening May 12, 2010. Mary Kay was a member of the Emmaus Class at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother of nine wonderful granddaughters whom she loved and absolutely adored. After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Medical Technology, she worked at UT Medical Center and later achieved her Masters of Education. She taught at Draughons Junior College and Farragut Middle School. Mary Kay later earned her real estate license and worked with Realty Executives Associates for over 15 years. An avid hiker of the entire Smoky Mountains, Mary Kay gained membership in the 900 Mile Club together with her cherished hiking buddies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lt. Colonel Clint H. Putman, U.S. Army and Annie Laura Hickey Putman of Rockwood, TN. Mary Kay is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, Chuck Bailey; sons, Jeffrey Jones (Hope), David Jones (Mindi); daughter, Natalie Jeanine Jones/Willow Sloane; step-son, David Bailey (Stephanie); step-daughter, Susan Bailey Lones (Jimmy); granddaughters, Kendall, Meredith, Anna, Elise, Kylie, Jaden, Bailey, Bridget and Audrey; sister, Janet Putman; nephews, Clint and Chad Caughran; nieces, Char Caughran Kelley and Chris Caughran Anton. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church sanctuary for a celebration of Mary Kay's life. The Rev. Roy Zinn will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of the Smokies, P.O. Box 1660, Kodak, TN 37764 or the American Cancer Society.
