Howard Follum Obituary

FOLLUM, HOWARD EVERETT - age 85, was escorted home by angels February 18, 2006. He was born in Newell, S.D., February 24, 1920 to the late John and Nellie Follum. He married Ruth L. Follum and spent the next 57 years of his life dedicated to her until her death in 2001. Howard became a longtime resident of Knoxville having moved here in 1978 after spending a vacation here visiting his oldest son William. Prior to that he lived in Sacramento, CA. He proudly served in the United States Navy for four years during WWII. He loved animals, especially boxers and horses. He was a longtime employee with the law firm Croley, Davidson and Huie until his retirement in 2000 at the age of 80. He attended Bearden United Methodist Church of Knoxville and received the Lord Jesus as his personal savior at the age of 80. Howard is survived by: his youngest son, Stephen and his wife Renee; two grandsons, William and Patrick; and five great grandsons, Cole, Baylen, Ryan, Corben and Daven. Family and friends will gather in the Chapel of Highland Memorial Mausoleum (in Highland Memorial Cemetery) on Saturday February 25, for a 2-3:00 pm visitation and a 3:00 pm memorial service. Rev. James Pollock will be officiating. Full Military Honors will be given by The Veterans United Honor Guard following the service. I was so sorry to read of Steve's father's death. I remember meeting him at the church. I also remember you two with love and fondmess. Steve was there for our family at a very difficult time. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
