JOYCE CRAWFORD Obituary

CRAWFORD, JOYCE HEMBREE - age 77, a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother died on 12/15/2013 after a 16-month period battling pancreatic cancer. She was a 1954 graduate of Lenoir City High School and a Registered Nurse graduate of East Tennessee Baptist School of Nursing. She also served as a Veteran Captain of the US Army Nurse Corps. She is preceded in death by parents George and Mary Hembree and a daughter Ginger Dorn. Joyce is survived by her husband of 53 years Charles Crawford of Farragut, TN; brother Harold (Judy) Hembree of Lenoir City, TN; son John (Pam) Crawford and grandsons Jay and Drew of Tucker, GA; and son-in-law Henry Dorn of St. Louis, MO. In death, as in life, Joyce chose to help others by donating her body for research and study. No funeral services or memorials are planned. Joyce and her family were comforted over the last several months with the many cards, emails, calls and visits. Her final wishes are for each of you to visit an older friend, give love to those who need it, and as she always said, "Be happy".
