CHARLES W. HOWARD

HOWARD, CHARLES W. - age 79, of Knoxville, passed from this life to a better place, Wednesday, November 13, 2013. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Kingston, TN, and a previous member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church of Knoxville, and before moving to Knoxville in 2009 a member of the Galmey Church in Wheatland, Missouri. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy in the early 1950's, where he served in the Korean War on an aircraft carrier, and sailed the China Seas as well as the South Pacific. He was an electrician by trade and was a lineman across a lot of the United States in the mid 1900's. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, of four and a half years. They liked to say they were newlyweds. He is also survived by his niece, Deborah Shoemaker and husband Mark of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Barbara Cartmill and husband Clyde of Mustang, Oklahoma; niece, Dody Cauthen and husband Terry of Mustang, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Henry Busch and wife Carron of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; great nephews, Benjamin Shoemaker of Knoxville, Conway Cauthen; great niece, Presley Cauthen both of Mustang, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 16th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Piney Grove Church Road with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Piney Grove Church, with Pastor Phillip Martin and Pastor Tim Fleeger officiating. Ibach MD, Thompson Oncology Center, and heartfelt thank you's for the loving prayers and support from their many friends and neighbors through Charlie's long illness.
