LAWSON, GOLDEN LOWELL (GOLDY) - age 84, of Powell, passed away 6:18 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church for over 30 years, where he served as a deacon and sang in the church choir. He owned and operated Dealers Appliance Service Company for over 52 years, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed dancing. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Goins Lawson; and parents, Ewell and Ethel Lawson. Survivors: wife, Mary Lawson; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Robert Warren; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Jill Lawson; grandchildren, Candace, Andrew, and Heidi; sisters, Tressie Gibson, Mollie Pratt, and Mae Whitaker; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Annie Armstrong Mission Fund. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. Mike Boyd officiating.
