ELLISON, MITCHELL RAY - age 67, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, April 10, 2014, after a brief battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband, father, and papaw. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was an army veteran and retired from Y-12 security force, then continued his security career with Pinkerton security forces until his illness began in December 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Homer and Ruby Ellison; brother, David. Survived by wife of 41 years, Gail Edmonds Ellison; daughters, Shannon James and fiancé Aaron Hale, and Carrie Ellison; grandsons (papaw's boys), Travis, Jackson, and Cameron James; brothers, Gary and Robert Ellison; special sister cousins, Robin Forester and husband Mike, and Patti Hill; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and caring friends. The family will receive friends Monday, April 14, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. Interment will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Lynnhurst Cemetery with Rev.
