Austin Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON, AUSTIN "BUSTER", JR. - age 82 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Buster was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a member of the 278th Army Air National Guard. He also served in Iceland. Buster retired after 47 years of service from South Central Bell Telephone Company. He was preceded in death by his parents Austin and Agnes Williams Johnson. Buster is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Betty King Johnson; four children: David Charles and Karen Johnson, Steven Michael Johnson, Karen Marie and Corey Seale, all of Knoxville, and Elizabeth Anne and Joe Williams of Sweetwater; eight grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Virginia Henshaw Chesney of Knoxville; and brother, Charles Edward Johnson of Williamson, Kentucky. A graveside service honoring Busters life will be held Saturday, 11:30 am at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Keith Wheeler officiating. Pallbearers: Joe Williams, Corey Seale, Jeremy Cansler, Jamie White, Kevin Henshaw, Ryan Taylor Johnson. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Online condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com
