POLLARD, RHODA MAE GROSECLOSE - age 92 formerly of Knoxville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 3, 2013, at home in Chattanooga. She was a devoted, faithful member of Atkins Baptist Church for 60 years, and recently attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hixson, TN. Mae loved her church, friends and family more than anything in life. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and care-giver to many family members and friends. She was a seamstress for many years. She is preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Charles Olin "Dee" Pollard; son, Raymond Bruce Pollard of Alvarado, Texas; grandson, Tracey Horner of Hixson, TN; son-in-law, Jack Horner of Hixson, TN; brothers, Garfield, Raymond and Carl Groseclose; sister, Edna Bryant, "her best friend". Survivors include her son, John Dee (Anita) Pollard of Corryton; daughter, Linda Horner of Chattanooga; daughter-in-law, Dean Pollard of Alvarado, Texas. She also leaves to cherish her memory: six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Stevens Mortuary. A funeral service will follow with at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Herbert Jones, Rev. Ralph McGee and Dr. Darreyl Duggar officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lynn Lane, #13, Knoxville 37919. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Serving the family: Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N.
