PATRICK, ALAN EUGENE - 85 of Deland, FL passed away December 26, 2012. He served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II. Alan graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology and held five patents for clocks and clock motors from his years with General Time Corporation in GA and NC. He retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems in 1985 after serving 14 years as a research engineer on centrifuge development, and then on the Star Wars development projects at the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge. He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Banks Patrick of Jefferson, GA who died in Knoxville in 1980. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Jones Patrick of Deland. Alan is also survived by three children, Michael and Donna Patrick of Knoxville, Barbara (Patrick) and Mike Pullan of Parrish, FL, and Phyllis (Patrick) and Caryl Strange of Mt. Juliet, TN; two stepsons, Rick and Lori Jones of Deland, and Steve and Debbie Jones of Rock Hill, SC; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. A graveside service is scheduled in Jefferson, GA on Jan. 5, 2013.
