LOGUE, ANDREW "JAKE" - 18, of Kingsport, was called home to Heaven on Friday evening, August 21, 2009, while playing the game he loved most. Jake played football for 13 years through various community leagues, middle school and high school athletic programs. Because of his great love of the game and personal dedication to excel, Jake was prepared to lead his senior year at Sullivan South High School as one of the Captains of the Rebel Football Team. Jake was just as successful off the field. In academics, he maintained honor student status throughout his school career, with a current GPA of 3.95. He was a TN/VA Scholar and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as, other clubs. He will also be remembered as a charter member of The Tree House Gang!! Jake was manager of the Sullivan South Basketball team. He has managed this senior team since middle school. His enthusiasm and support for his friends has helped develop a successful team. Jake was also active in Boy Scouts of America for several years. He especially loved hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail and camping trips. Jake was employed at Subway in Colonial Heights. In life, Jake chose to live a Godly life. He is a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church and an organ donor. He was a man who lived life to its fullest, yet remembered those around him. His love for his family, friends and teammates was evident in his life. In one word, Jake Logue is a friend. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Logue; his paternal grandmother, Norma Logue and his maternal grandfather, Carol Mynatt. Survivors include his parents, Shane and Janet Mynatt Logue; his brother, Alex Logue all of the home; maternal grandmother, Bobbie Mae Mynatt of Knoxville; paternal grandmother, Kitty Ward of Knoxville; aunts and uncles, Brenda Correa, Gary Mynatt of Kialua, Hawaii, Rob Logue, of Vienna, VA, Tim Logue of Knoxville and several cousins. A celebration of Jake's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Sullivan South High School with Rev. Shane Smith officiating. Eulogies will be given by Jake's Coaches. Music will be provided by Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church Praise Team. A visitation will not be held prior to the celebration. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. The Sullivan South Football Team will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greeneville, SC 29605 or to the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 213 Colonial Heights Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.
