COOK, BRIAN JAMES - of Knoxville, departed this life, Sunday, April 7, 2013, at his home in Johnson City, Tennessee. Brian was a 1983 graduate of Rule High School, where he was class valedictorian. He served four years in the United States Army as a Korean linguist. Born to the late Edward Sr. and Marsha Meade Cook, May 29, 1965 in Knoxville, TN. Preceded in death by grandparents, James and Mary Mostella Meade; aunts, Wilma Johnson and Linda Nelson. Survivors, brother, Edward "Sam" Cook, Jr.; sister, Karla Cook; brother, Dorian Cook; daughters, Brittney and Koriah Cook and Jordan Young; grandchildren, Tyree, Tyrus and Tyae Gibson; nieces, McKayla and McKenna Cook; nephew, Adam Hill; former wife, Karen Cook; several aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends. Family will receive friends 11:30 - 12:00 p.m., Friday, at Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church; funeral service, 12:00 p.m., Rev. John Butler, officiating.
