HICKEY, EDNA IRENE GILLESPIE - A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister age 80 went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 13, 2013 at home. She was the daughter of the late Gail G. and Bertha Edna Howell Gillespie in Spring City. Edna graduated from Dayton Carver High School. She was a devoted member of Euchee Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and served as the church secretary until her recent illness; and she was a member of the Gillespie singers. Survivors include three sons: William Gillespie (Kimberly), Charles V. Hickey and Stefan Hickey (Cindy) all of Spring City; three daughters Darlene Pendergrass (Alvin) and Vanessa I. Hickey of Spring City, Rene' Wyatt (Charles) of Dayton. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 17th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Euchee Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Funeral will follow with Rev. L. B. Tate officiating. Interment will follow in the Euchee/Gillespie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Euchee/Gillespie Cemetery in memory of Edna Hickey via Charles V.
